Cursor
Create an inbox-scoped key in the console and make it available to Cursor as SIMAIL_API_KEY (for
example in the shell profile that launches Cursor).
mcp.json
Section titled “mcp.json”Use ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project:
{ "mcpServers": { "simail": { "url": "https://api.simail.ai/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:SIMAIL_API_KEY}" } } }}Cursor substitutes ${env:SIMAIL_API_KEY} when it loads the file. Do not paste the key itself into a
project file that is committed.
Open Settings → MCP (Tools & Integrations). simail should be enabled with its tools listed. If it
shows an authentication error, confirm that Cursor was started from an environment where
SIMAIL_API_KEY is set.
- Leave tool-call confirmation on for the send tools.
- Email content returned by the tools is untrusted; see MCP server.
